Southborough, MA-October 8, 2008-Pinnacle Financial Group, in conjunction with the law firm Mintz Levin and the accounting firm Feeley & Driscoll, conducted an informative seminar on October 1, 2008 to address the IRS 403(b) final regulations that will take effect on January 1, 2009. Financial executives and Human Resources professionals from many nonprofit businesses in the Northeast convened at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA to discuss this landmark legislation.

Key pieces of the legislation affecting retirement plans were reviewed. Senior consultants Ron York and Greg Lewis of Pinnacle's Retirement Plan practice discussed the impact that the proposed regulations will have on nonprofit employers; many will find themselves facing significantly increased compliance, liability and risk issues. Ron York then outlined the requirements for compliance and explained how these changes may require employers to re-evaluate the effectiveness of internal management for their plans and the new compliance issues.
